In my post on Feb. 19, 2008, I showed some pillowcases that I had just finished. They were an old UFO that I found when I was cleaning in Jan. When I was cleaning I also found a tablecloth that I had started LONG ago. When I say long.....I mean real long. I know it had to have been sometime around 1983 when I started this. How do I know this? I know the tablecloth was given to me by my neighbor, Mrs. Thornton, and we moved from that house in 1983. I have worked on it off and on through the years and when I found it in January, all I needed to do was the centers of all the flowers. After I finished the pillowcases, I started work on this tablecloth. I worked a little each night.......and it is now finished! I'm sharing pictures of it before I iron it as I am getting ready to put it in the wash.
This tablecloth was a kit from Lee Wards. I remember Mrs. Thorton telling me she had gotten it in a grab bag she had ordered from them. She told me she would never do it as she only enjoyed quilting and had no use for a tablecloth.
It is so hard to believe that it took me 25 years to finish this. I should be ashamed of myself. But at least it is finished. Now I can move on to another completing another project.

It is beautiful! It looks so spring like, wouldn't it be wonderful on your table for Easter dinner?
It got done in the end Belvie and it's beautiful !!
I started to embroider a tablecloth as a wedding present for my college roommate who married in 1973. It's still not finished, and my tastes have changed so much I think I will give it to someone else to finish and use. (I did give my roommate another gift!) Congrats on finally finishing yours! It is very springlike and you should get a lot of use out of it.
how wonderful that you finished it!!! who cares if it took you 25 years. it's beautiful.
