Containers
I am always on the hunt for good containers to keep my sewing items organized. Today I went in my local HobbyLobby after my dental appointment. In the beading area I found a small, pink plastic box that I think will make a wonderful small sewing kit to carry when we travel. It is about 3 1/2 inches x 4 1/2 inches in size. It has one large compartment that will hold my applique scissors...and several small ones to hold needles, pins, small amounts of thread, etc. I also have another one of these that I have had for a while. It is green and about 3 1/2 inches x 2 inches, but that one was not large enough for my small scissors. I had to buy folding scissors to fit in the green one. When I carry small things like this, I usually wind small amounts of the threads I am working with bobbins. They fit nicely in the little compartments. I'll post another picture when I get the pink one completely stocked with my sewing items.
Oh....and also....I'm quite proud! The dentist says I was a very good girl again. NO cavities! I love it when she calls me a girl, especially since I am getting on in years.

I love containers too!! A friend made me a bag with qt. size ziplock baggies staggered inside. When you open it there are three bags on each side. I keep this in my van with a hand applique project in it. I am using a shoe box size plastic container for my home applique project and a little pottery bowl my niece made me holds my hand quilting items next to the spot where I hand quilt. I love the idea of putting thread on bobbins for travel. Great idea!
I LOVE containers...and bags...and anything that holds my 'stuff'.
Your mystery quilt is just beautiful, I know you must be excited to see it all come together.
Happy quilting!
I buy plastic boxes with dividers in the sporting goods dept. I keep my jewelry in one that is made for fish lures. I have a couple that I use for taking quilting things along when we go on a trip.
All your quilts are wonderful. I love applique also and hope some day to do something as complicated as you have done.
I love stuff like that too, but the problem here is that i'm not too good at putting things 'back' in the box...
